Insights with an Australian author

Thanks to author Richard Flanagan for taking time out during his week in Paris to share with our high school students reflections on history, memory and writing. His Man Booker prize-winning novel ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’ is published this week in France (La Route étroite vers le Nord lointain, Actes Sud). Three 1ère students read extracts from the French translation, followed by an enriching discussion in the incredible surroundings of the Australian Ambassador’s residence overlooking the Eiffel Tower, accompanied by fish and chips and Tasmanian champagne. Thanks to Harriet O’Malley for this unique opportunity.
