Fantastic effort by the section’s 3è class for a volunteering project this term in aid of refugees in Paris. They organised across the school a collection of food to help over 800 refugees originally from countries like Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea and Soudan. 10 boxes and 2 bags of much-needed tinned food and provisions were taken to La Maison des Réfugiées.
The students were inspired to set up the project following a lecture at the school by a parent who is a professor of politics and researcher on migration issues. She talked about her recent research in Kos (Greece) and St Ouen (Ile de France), describing the experiences of Syrian and Afghan refugees she had met, and explaining some of the issues surrounding EU migration policies.
